History
Intersports FC, founded in 1981, for boys who had played in colts football and expressed a desire to continue playing. Keith Heazel, a parent of one of the boys took on the responsibility of managing the team and the club was born.
The team entered the local Thundermite league and were promoted to the Premier division in their first season. Unfortunately the season wasn't as successful as the first and they were relegated the following year.
The team went on to win a six aside competition but their league form was always erratic and they eventually folded.
However, by this time the club had merged with another local team and new teams were formed annually at the under 10 age group. Over the years the teams had various successes, including the U14
League Cup winners of 1985/6 and in the 1990s, teams led by Bill Corthine and Ken Dean won the Thundermite and Chelmsford leagues.
Ken's team won the Chelmsford U18 league in 1996. The U12A team of 1997/98 were winners of Division 2 of the Chelmsford league, with the victorious U18 team runners up.
In 2011, Intersports FC celebrated it's 30th Anniversary, with many teams in all age groups and a thriving Colts and Football Development Section, ensuring the future success of the club.
9 years later in 2020 and there are age groups from U7 through to Mens football with a Colts and Football Development Section from 3 years old + that continues to thrive and produces 2-3 teams per year.
